The National Labor Relations Board has issued a complaint against American Medical Response of Connecticut for firing an employee who complained about her supervisor on Facebook. The company claimed that it fired the employee for violating its policy against depicting the company on a social media site. The NLRB's complaint states that the company's blogging and internet posting policy is overly broad; the company illegally denied union representation during the investigation; and that the firing violated an employee's right to engage in concerted activities. The National Labor Relations Act protects an employee's right to engage in group activities, such as discussing work-related issues, to improve workplace conditions.
