The Ethics of AI and Privacy Panel

EPIC’s AI and Human Rights Program Lead and Global Privacy Counsel Calli Schroeder will participate in the University of Colorado, Boulder Silicon Flatirons Center’s “The Ethics of AI and Privacy” panel. Each panelist will give a 5-minute presentation in their area of expertise, followed by a panel discussion and audience questions. The event will be in person at the Wolf Law Building, Wittemyer Courtroom, and available via Zoom Webinar on April 1 from 5 pm – 8 pm MT / 7 pm – 10 pm ET.
Event Description: Presented by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program at Colorado Law and Silicon Flatirons, the April 1 session will explore artificial intelligence, privacy, and international and domestic regulation efforts from a diverse variety of viewpoints. Panelists from academic, regulatory, and industry sectors will discuss the current state of ethical debate, regulation, and enforcement of privacy protections in artificial intelligence applications.
Calli will be joined by panelists Steve DeGroff, Technology & Privacy Protection Assistant Attorney General at the Colorado Attorney General’s Office; Margot Kaminski, Professor at the University of Colorado Law School; Kathleen McInerney, Director, Community Affairs Business Partner, West, at Vail Resorts; Cobun Zweifel-Keegan, Managing Director of International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAPP), Washington, D.C; and moderator Melanie Kay, Director of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative.
