Mashable India: Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Faces Another Law Suit For Illegally Collecting Biometric Data

According to John Davisson, senior counsel of the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a research and advocacy organization, “states and people have a vital role to play in privateness safety.”
Following the announcement of Facebook’s settlement in the Illinois class-action lawsuit, Texas sent a personal civil subpoena to the company, seeking information on the facial-recognition technology. Last November, Facebook announced that its face recognition system will be phased out. According to Texas, Facebook’s face-recognition system disregarded the state’s legal requirements for recording consumers’ facial choices.
