The Electronic Privacy Information Center, meanwhile, posted a warmer endorsement, with its Deputy Director Caitriona Fitzgerald saying the bill “takes the steps needed to change the business practices that drive corporate surveillance in the United States.” Last year, EPIC scored Eshoo and Lofgren’s bill gave it an A grade, the highest of 11 bills considered at the time.
