ABA and NACA’s AI and Consumers: The Invisible Impact on Economic Justice Webinar

EPIC Equal Justice Works Fellow Grant Fergusson will be participating in a webinar on AI and Consumers: The Invisible Impact on Economic Justice hosted by the American Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Advocates. The webinar will take place on April 26, 2024 from 2:30 – 4:00 pm ET.

Grant will be joined on the panel by: Christine HinesĀ (NACA), Ryan Kriger (FTC), and Matthew Loker, Esq. (Loker Law).

Event Description: Join the ABA and the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) for a conversation about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on consumers from low-income and marginalized communities. This webinar will include a presentation of the harms created or exacerbated by automated decision systems (ADS) as they relate to consumer law issues, such as lending and debt collection, and an overview of responses from a recent ABA survey on consumer law and ADS. Presenters will discuss the implications of AI in the consumer law context, from the perspective of attorneys in the private and public sectors. Webinar attendees will be asked to complete a brief survey about their own familiarity with issues at the intersection of AI and consumer law.
