Law360: Meta Hid ‘Alarming Reality’ Of AI Glasses’ Privacy, Suit Says

The Electronic Privacy Information Center last month pushed the Federal Trade Commission and the attorneys general of California, Colorado, Connecticut and the six other states that are members of the Consortium of Privacy Regulators to shut down Meta’s reported plans to add facial recognition capabilities to its smart glasses, arguing that the feature would pose “a grave risk to privacy, safety and civil liberties.”
The consumer advocacy group called for “immediate investigation and action” in response to the revelation that Meta is aiming to soon embed facial recognition technology into its Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
