LGBT Tech & the Justice Education Project: Data Privacy in an Age of Inference Webinar

EPIC Senior Counsel and Director of the Consumer Privacy Program Sara Geoghegan will join a webinar panel exploring how modern algorithms can infer deeply sensitive characteristics from seemingly unrelated behavioral data on July 21 at 1 p.m.

The discussion, hosted by LGBT Tech & the Justice Education Project, will examine how modern data systems can predict or infer political beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy status, mental health conditions, religious affiliation, and other intimate characteristics, even when individuals intentionally keep those aspects of themselves private.

Panelists will discuss what inference-based data practices mean for privacy, civil rights, digital safety, and marginalized communities, and how privacy education and policy must evolve in response.
