DC Public Library: AI and our privacy: Screened & Scored in DC

23 Jul. 4:00 PM EDT

The final session of the DC Public Library’s “AI and Us” series will include a discussion of the AI-fueled data collection and decision-making tools at work on DC residents, as outlined by EPIC’s 2022 reportĀ “Screened & Scored in DC.”

The discussion will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, in Conference Room 401-G at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.

Attendees will discuss how tools AI-powered tools like Automated License Plate Readers, screening tools for housing application decisions, or fraud protection algorithms could impact local residents’ lives, what you should know about them, and how information about them could be shared with neighbors to build informed decision-making power.

The event is free, but space is limited. Register here to secure a spot.
