Communications Daily: State AGs Clash With Industry on FCC’s Proposed Know-Your-Upstream-Provider Rules

“A coalition of other consumer groups said rules like the KYUP proposals are ‘more vital than ever’ to fight fraud. ‘Many providers profit from transmitting illegal calls, either directly by originating calls for fraudsters or indirectly by accepting illegal call traffic from upstream providers,’ they said. [. . .] The filing was signed by the National Consumer Law Center, the National Consumers League, the Electronic Privacy Information Center and Consumer Action.”
